Commissioned Fanart

I run a guild on FFXIV on the server Lamia. One of my members asked me to draw this character. I had a bunch of fun with it! I also love lalafells! So easy work for me!! Cae_lala

Ashes to Ashes Part 7

This is where it ended folks. The last page of chapter 2. Quite the cliffhanger, I know!!!

Chapter three was written and had started to get completed. However, at the times of chapter 1 and 2 I was working 3 jobs and my partner finally got employed full time at her day job. When chapter 3 came out she was starting to get professional work and couldn't keep up with it all. I have promised to finish writing this story at least in prose! Hopefully one day I will be able to pick up the pencil and finish the project myself. Or who knows! Maybe later down the line my partner will want to revisit the project. I leave you with a gift. The first page of chapter 3 in inks and the little bit of page two that got done. When I compare these two pages to the rest of the project I just want to cry. The improvement is impeccable, and I am so happy to have been able to be apart of a project with one of my best friends. It was such an honor to share the cast with her.

Ashes to Ashes Part 6

Marlene is a very driven character. She would only do what she believed was right, which of course usually got her in a lot of trouble. My favorite was how she interacted with Markel. I thought they were the funniest when they would get together, always bickering at one another.

Ashes to Ashes Part 5

Marlene was actually one of my favorite characters to write. She felt like a woman who at one point was probably very enthusiastic and optimistic about her career in law. It wasn't until she lost case after case that she started to become very discouraged. There was probably a time in her life when she felt very sorry for herself and those she attempted to defend. What I like the most about her is she didn't let it crush her. She acknowledged something was wrong and went to find out what it was.

Ashes to Ashes Part 4

The second chapter. We started this one with so much energy. We were both excited to be back on the project and working with the quirky cast. Some of these pages are also my favorites. The coloring certainly got stepped up as did the art. Comparing page one of chapter one to page one of chapter 2 practically floored us. It really is rewarding to see your own progress. As artists we tend to suffer from crippling self doubt. Nothing like seeing proof of your improvement to help you out of those moments.

Ashes to Ashes Part 3

The pages I was most proud of with colors were some of these pages here. Starting at the second page and moving forward to the end. I LOVED coloring his tower and the purples and yellows as he descends the tower. The way the color gets duller until it goes black and white I also enjoyed doing. Of course looking back on the project now, you see all the things you would do differently. Another testament to improvement. I'm really happy to have had the time I did to work on this project with Melody Ledford. This was the end of the first chapter. We took a small hiatus and then we began the second chapter which i wrote post-college.

Ashes to Ashes Part 2

This project began as my senior thesis in college. It was one of five scripts I wrote, though at the time it was only the original 24 pages. I asked my best friend to be the artist on the project cause I felt her style really helped contribute towards the work, and boy was I right. From the moment we started I was continuously surprised by the result of our work together. The best part was to see the improvement. It excited the both of us. Not only did the drawing improve, but inking and colors did as well. There were a lot of sleepless nights on this project, but all well worth it.

Ashes to Ashes Part 1

It's really hard to see a project you work hard on go down in flames. Unfortunately Ashes to Ashes will no longer be continuing. For that reason I'm going to post the comic here on my portfolio because I believe it is an excellent example of my collaborative work. I wrote this comic, and did the coloring for the project. I will post them a little at a time, since there are over 50 pages of the project.

Logos!!

I recently moved to New Hampshire. I must say besides the blistering cold winters, it is very wonderful up here. At least now I will certainly get to experience all the seasons at their fullest! Other then the weather, I was recently commissioned to work on the logo for a local up and coming brewery! It was loads of fun! Here is the end result.

Colors

These images were apart of a commission I was involved with. I did the inking and coloring.
